Sometimes it seems like there is no answer. I do agree that sites like Facebook can become ugly because of how people can abuse it but it useful to keep in touch with friends and family. I still love book though and am going try and read 28 this year. xxKate Gormanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02981103578975768299noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1885278372959102829.post-53841636836202562112013-01-06T11:25:37.572-06:002013-01-06T11:25:37.572-06:00I love that Bronte bio! I have just been feeling this -- just resolved to be quieter on my family Facebook because my sister (my opposite in every way) constantly attaches a "devil's advocate" comment to my posts. It makes me feel stupid and laughed at, though logically I know she's just very analytical and loves debate, and since I'm her younger sister, she feels welcome to debate with me. I don't think she'll ever understand my personality and it frustrates me. (Though obviously I love her.)

And I feel this yearning to shout my perspective into the world, or sing it, or at least insert it into the babble. I feel strongly that we must -- we must contribute our ideas. Half-baked or otherwise. And I have that deep yearning to express through writing. What I speak is my soul. But I'm shy, self-conscious, introverted -- etc, etc. Both a poet and a hopeful activist. Both after revolution and peace, kindness, compassion. And it wars inside me. It's my civil war.

So I keep just withdrawing and saying nothing. And I know I shouldn't, but the world against me is oil firing water into flame. I crave the peace that is solitude and crave the change that is my voice.

So yes -- I get this. Mabelhttp://mapleandaquill.wordpress.com/noreply@blogger.com
